Chassis braces are critical in providing rigidity to any competitive 1/8th scale off-road racing platform. While some schools of thought believe that a bit of flex in the chassis helps generate more traction, Speed Tech Nitro believe that the main foundation of a true race car should be stiff and as rigid as possible to allow the suspension setup and tires to generate the traction on the track. Because it is impossible to know just how much traction is provided by the flex of the chassis, however you do know what wt of oil, what spring, what tire/foam combo you’re using at any given time. So by having the chassis as rigid as possible provide a "constant" while you test the other variable to dial in your setup.
